Juventus slipped to a disappointing 2-0 loss at the hands of Atletico Madrid in their last match in preseason last week.

The pair have only met twice before, with Juventus winning once and the other match ending as a draw.

Juventus know they were not nearly good enough in the league last year as they finished 23 points short of Inter Milan at the summit.

19 wins was a fairly good tally, but it was well short of Inter's 29 victories as they set the pace in the league. This year, Juve have to be far better, and they know they simply have to start with a win against a newly-promoted side on their own patch.

With just 31 goals conceded in 38 matches last season, Juve were strong at the back. They also boast clean sheets in each of their last five victories, and I am backing them to burst Como's bubble in game one.

Como Form

Como have not started the season in the ideal manner as they slipped to a 2-1 loss at the hands of Sampdoria in the cup.

This followed a toothless display in a 0-0 draw with Wolfsburg in the match before. Now, Como have the unenviable job of trying to defeat a Juventus side that will know just how important starting the season with a win is.

While I do predict that Como will give their hosts some issues, I do not see them getting on the scoresheet as they are beaten in their Serie A bow in 2024.
