Mallorca were consigned to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Bologna in their final preseason friendly match last week.

Real Madrid secured a trophy at the first time of asking as they defeated Atalanta 2-0 to secure the UEFA Super Cup in midweek.

Real have won eight of their last 10 against Mallorca, with the latter winning twice.

Mallorca were able to avoid relegation last season with the side ending seven points clear of Cadiz in 18th and the final relegation spot.

Eight wins in 38 attempts was hardly impressive, with their 16 draws ultimately what saved them as they only tasted defeat 14 times, the least oof any side outside of the top-eight. Clearly, Mallorca made a name for themselves as being tough to beat last season, but they know that cannot always depend on draws to save themselves.

Against Real, Mallorca have lost their last three meetings, and I predict that they will once again struggle to match the champions on the pitch.

Real Madrid did not waste any time in finding their groove this season, with their 2-0 win over Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup allowing them to lift a trophy in their first competitive match of the campaign.

This win backed up their victory against Chelsea, with Real winning their last two matches. This leads them into the new campaign in good form as they look to secure both the La Liga and Champions League crowns once again.

Kylian Mbappe scored against Atalanta in the week to open his account for his new side, and I am backing more of the same in his first league game.
