Premier League Best Bets – April 21/22

Brighton have the opportunity to edge closer to European football for the 2026/27 season if they can beat a Chelsea side in woeful form. The home outfit have won seven of their 16 on their own patch this term while they arrive for this one with three wins and a draw across their last four. With a 2-1 triumph over Liverpool in their last home match, Brighton will be confident that they can hand Chelsea another stunning loss. 

Chelsea haven been abysmal across their last four league games, losing to Newcastle, Everton, Manchester City and Manchester United without scoring a single goal. Across their last seven in all competitions, a 7-0 win over Port Vale in the FA Cup is their only win, with 5-2 and 3-0 defeats to PSG in the Champions League helping to complete an awful run. With defeats in their last three against Brighton including a 3-1 loss in the reverse of this fixture, I predict more pain for Chelsea as their season goes from bad to worse. 

With just five games and 15 points left on offer, Burnley find themselves staring at the prospect of yet another relegation from the Premier League. Burnley currently sit 12 points short of West Ham in 17th and they face the challenge of hosting a Manchester City side that are chasing down Arsenal at full speed. With nine defeats, five draws and two wins across their 16 home matches this season, I am backing a heavy defeat for Burnley as they slump to a 15th consecutive loss at the hands of their opponents. 

Manchester City were excellent in their top of the table clash against Arsenal as they secured a 2-1 win over the league leaders on Sunday. As the chasing side, City could not afford to drop points as they battled to cut the lead at the top to just three points. Now, City will target utilising their game in hand to move level with the Gunners. Pep Guardiola’s men can move to the summit if they beat Burnley by two goals or more, with their +36 goal difference slightly inferior to Arsenal’s +37. With the need for a win and goals, I back City to storm past Burnley as they continue to pile the pressure on Arsenal.
