Arsenal vs Fulham
Arsenal edged to an unconvincing win over Newcastle in their last match as they finally put an end to a two-game losing run in the league. With a first victory in the Premier League since March 14, the Gunners have hit a rough patch at the worst possible time.
Despite their woes of late, the Gunners have been very strong at home this season. 13 wins have come alongside two draws and two defeats, with the 41 points Arsenal have picked up seeing them boast the best home record in the league.
Fulham arrive for their clash with Arsenal on the back of a battling 1-0 win over Aston Villa that has given their hopes of securing a European spot for next season a real shot in the arm. This victory followed on from a 0-0 draw on the road against Brentford, with Fulham's pair of clean sheets showing they can shut-out some of the better sides in the league.
Worrying for Fulham will be their away form this season. Only Leeds, Burnley and Wolves have picked up fewer points on the road than Fulham, with four wins, four draws and nine defeats resulting in 16 points. With Fulham poor on the road this season, I predict they will slump to a defeat against the league leaders.
Everton vs Manchester City
Everton's big aim at the start of the season would have been to avoid relegation and they have achieved this with time to spare. With 47 points in their pocket, Everton are 13 clear of Tottenham with four games and 12 points on offer.
Securing survival means Everton can now look to fight for a European spot for next season. The Toffees sit two points behind Bournemouth in seventh while they are three behind Brighton in sixth. Victory in this one could see them move up a number of places if results go their way.
Manchester City know that every single point will be incredibly tough to come by as they head into the final five games of their season. With a game in hand over Arsenal, City know that a win in this one will keep them in the title equation. If Arsenal are to beat Fulham then City will be six points behind with a game in hand. Games in hand mean City are currently favourites for the title, but points on the board are likely better at this stage of the season.
Away from home City have secured nine wins across their 17 outings. Four draws and four defeats have come alongside their wins, with City boasting the second best away record in the competition. Matches against Everton have seen less than 3.5 goals scored in each of their last four, and I back City to win a very tight game against a solid opponent.
Verdict
I am backing both Arsenal and City to secure crucial wins in their matches as they continue to push each-other in an enthralling title race.
