Atalanta vs Arsenal Tips

Atalanta battled to a 3-2 win over Fiorentina in their last league game as they put an end to a two-game losing run.

Arsenal ran out 1-0 winners against Tottenham in their last league game as they extended their unbeaten run to four-matches.

Head To Head

This will be the first competitive clash between Atalanta and Arsenal.

Atalanta Form

Atalanta's start to the new season has not been ideal, although there are a number of positives that can be taken from their opening four matches.

A 4-0 win over Lecce saw their season begin in style, before defeats to Torino and Inter Milan saw them slip to two defeats in their opening three. They have since claimed their second win, beating Fiorentina at the weekend. Positively, they have played once at home and won once, while they have won half of their games despite playing three of their opening four on the road.

While Atalanta have not been perfect so far, they are very tough to beat at home. The reigning Europa League champions secured their place in the Champions League for a reason, and I predict that last year's star Ademola Lookman will have his say as the home side secure a point.

Arsenal Form

Arsenal did not have everything their own way against Tottenham at the weekend, but they came out to the other side with all three points after fighting to a 1-0 win.

The Gunners had to sit deep for large parts of the second-half as their hosts searched for a goal to level the game. At the back, Arsenal were superb, with David Raya not having to make a save of note. Now, they switch their attentions to emulating that defensive performance against a side that scored three times at the weekend.

While I do believe that Arsenal are the better side in this one, I do not agree with them being so short in the betting. Meanwhile, the draw is an intriguing option, especially with Atalanta searching for their best form this term and Arsenal likely content with extending their unbeaten run.
