Barcelona vs PSG Preview & Tips

Barcelona arrive for their second Champions League game hoping to extend their winning run to two matches after easing past Newcastle in a 2-1 win in game one.

PSG were also able to take all three points from their opening match as they hammered Atalanta 4-0.

In their last 10 meetings, Barcelona have won five times, with PSG winning four times and one game ending as a draw.

Barcelona secured an impressive 2-1 win over Newcastle in mid-September as they stormed into a 2-0 lead before holding on in a 2-1 victory.

Marcus Rashford was central to their win as he scored twice to break Newcastle hearts. His pace and direct running gave the home side all kinds of problems in defence, and it has given Barcelona yet another string to add to their bow.

However, the Spanish side will expect an even tougher game this week. The reigning European champions are in town, and a win is far from certain. With this in mind, I am instead backing both sides to find the back of the net, something they have done in their last five meetings.

I also predict that Marcus Rashford will continue his scoring run in Europe with another against PSG.

PSG Form

PSG were far too good for Atalanta in their opening Champions League game as two goals in either half ended with the French side securing all the points in a 4-0 win.

Beginning their title defence with a win was hugely important, but the quality of opponent rises massively heading into their second game. PSG have not had it all their own way against Barcelona, with their last 10 meetings seeing the French side win four matches.

While I back the pair to make it six consecutive matches in which both sides have scored, I am not backing them to win this match outright with both sides fully capable of securing the points.
