The Champions League is at the grand final, with two of the best sides in Europe left standing in the battle for the biggest club trophy in the game. 

Real Madrid won the trophy in the 2023/24 season but they were eliminated in the quarter-finals, meaning there will be a different name on the trophy this season.

Real Madrid secured yet another Champions League crown in 2024 as they beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Wembley. However, they were eliminated from the competition by Arsenal in the quarter-finals, with this blowing the whole tournament wide open. 

The semi-finals saw two vastly different matches in which PSG and Inter Milan secured their places in the final. PSG arrive for the final as the slight favourites, although discounting Inter Milan would be foolish after their exploits across the tournament. 

In the last-four, PSG knocked out Arsenal in a 3-2 aggregate win. The French side secured a 1-0 win at the Emirates before completing the job in a 2-1 win at home. Arsenal were guilty of missing a number of chances throughout their clash, but all that mattered was PSG got the job done, which they did. 

Inter downed Barcelona in one of the great two-legged ties to advance 7-6 on aggregate. A 3-3 draw in Spain saw the sides head to Italy level. The game once again ended 3-3 after 90 minutes, with Inter striking the winner in extra-time to win the second-leg 4-3. 

The Champions League always throws up a number of shocking results and inspiring runs, with Borussia Dortmund's battle an example from last season. This is no truer than this season, with neither PSG nor Inter the favourites to make this point of the season. 

PSG have been the best side in the competition, and they have already knocked out Liverpool, Aston Villa and Arsenal. Meanwhile, Inter Milan have shown that they can beat any side, while they can outscore the best of them.
