Manchester City needed yet another Erling Haaland salvo of goals as the striker scored twice to down Brentford 2-1.

The pair have met three times in total, with City winning twice and Inter winning once.

Manchester City have been perfect so far this season, with the reigning Premier League champions notching four wins in their opening four.

Following a 2-1 win over Brentford in their last match, City can now turn their full attention to taking on an Inter Milan side they beat in the Champions League final in 2023. With the chance to begin their Champions League campaign with a big scalp at the Etihad Stadium, Pep Guardiola will be desperate to see his side hit the ground running this week.

Erling Haaland has been in scintillating form in front of goal, scoring nine times in four games including two hat-tricks. While I do not expect him to score a hat-trick in midweek, I am backing another goal for the marksman.

Inter Milan Form

Inter Milan struggled to a 1-1 draw with Monza in their last league game. The game entered the 80th minute with the sides locked at 0-0. An 81st minute goal from Monza had the reigning champions scrambling as they netted in the 88th minute to save their blushes and a point.

This draw was the second time in four league games in which they have dropped points, with a 2-2 draw against Genoa seeing the reigning champions take a total of eight points from a possible 12.

While Inter are still unbeaten, they are yet to face a real quality outfit. While Atalanta are excellent on their day, they have already lost twice, and I am backing a lack of game time against true top-quality opposition to count against Inter this week.

I am backing City to take all three points from this one as Haaland scores his 10th goal of the season for the English side.
