Real Madrid vs Juventus Preview & Tips

Real Madrid are eyeing up a third successive win in the Champions League this season, with the side putting their best foot forward as they look to reclaim the trophy once again.

Juventus are unbeaten in the competition, but they are yet to win a match after two entertaining draws against Borussia Dortmund and Villarreal.

Real Madrid have won five of their last 10 against Juventus, with the latter winning three times and two games ending as draws.

Real Madrid’s start to the new Champions League season has been hugely impressive, with the Spanish side securing two wins and moving up to second in the standings.

Their 2-1 win over Marseille was followed by a powerful 5-0 win over Kairat Almaty. While their opponents are hardly a big-name side on the European scene, travelling to face any team in the Champions League is tough, making their big win all the more impressive.

Matches against Juventus have tended to be goal-filled. With the exception of their Club World Cup game in July, each of the last 14 games have seen two goals or more scored. In this time, 10 of these matches has seen three or more goals scored. I am backing this one to end as an exhilarating match in which Real breach Juventus’ creaky defence as Kylian Mbappe continues his stunning run of scoring in each of his last 11 matches for club and county.

Juventus have found wins tough to come by of late, with their last six in all competitions resulting in five draws and a 2-0 defeat to Como in their last game.

While they have taken on a number of top European sides in the form of Borussia Dortmund, Atalanta, Villarreal and AC Milan in this time, a side like Juventus would expect to have picked up a handful of wins at least.

Their 4-4 draw with Borussia Dortmund was incredibly exciting, but it saw Juve score in the 94th and 96th minutes to rescue a point. On a different day, this game would have ended in defeat. Against Villarreal, they were the unlucky recipients of a late goal as they conceded in the 90th minute in a 2-2 draw.

While I back them to continue to score goals in Europe, I do not see them denying one of Europe’s best a win. Juventus have been too shaky at the back to truly contest with the best, and I predict their poor backline will hurt them once again.

I am backing Kylian Mbappe to hit the back of the net once again as Real Madrid beat Juventus despite failing to keep a clean sheet.
