Valencia secured a win in their final preseason match as they bested Eintracht Frankfurt in an entertaining 3-2 win.

Barcelona had to stomach a 3-0 hammering at the hands of Monaco in their final preseason friendly match.

Barcelona have managed to secure seven wins in their last 10 against Valencia, with the latter winning once and the other two ending as draws.

Valencia were very disappointing last season as they managed to secure just 13 wins in 38, finishing with just over half the points of champions Real Madrid.
With just 40 goals scored in 38 games, their problems going forward were laid out for all to see. Despite this, they did manage to secure a draw with Barcelona when they hosted their opponents, while they scored in both of their meetings.
While Valencia winning this one is unlikely, I am backing them to ruin any chance of Barca starting the season with a clean sheet as they give their fans something to cheer about.

Barcelona have frustrated in recent weeks, slipping to a 3-2 defeat against AC Milan before ending on the wrong side of a 3-0 scoreline against Monaco.
While preseason matches do not often dictate how a side will do across the season, there is some cause for concern for a side that has conceded six goals across their last two. With Barca having to find a way to keep pace with a Real Madrid side that have added a lot of firepower to their team this year, they know they have to get off to a winning start.
Despite struggling in recent matches, I am backing the travelling side to begin with a win. They should have too much for their hosts as they show the rest of La Liga that they should not be taken lightly this term.
Verdict
While I am not backing Barca to keep a clean sheet in their opening game, I predict that they will secure all three points against a side that have enjoyed playing of late.
