Marina Stakusic eliminated Anna Schmiedlova in straight-sets in her last outing.
Head To Head
This will be the first competitive meeting between the two players.
Jelena Ostapenko Form
Jelena Ostapenko has not been at her best of late, losing her last three outings, with two of these defeats coming in straight-sets.
With five defeats in her last six, Ostapenko needs to find a way to kickstart things on the court, with a solitary win over Paula Badosa in August her only victory since triumphing in the fourth round at Wimbledon back in July.
Despite this torrid run, Ostapenko has won 31 of her 49 outings this year. While she is yet to face Stakusic in a competitive match, the 27-year-old will fancy her chances against her far less experienced opponent.
Marina Stakusic Form
Marina Stakusic finally put an end to a four-match losing run as she eased to a 6-2 6-4 win over Anna Schmiedlova in her last outing in Guadalajara.
This win was her 20th of the year, with the other 17 ending in defeats. Worrying for Stakusic is the fact that six of these defeats have come in her last eight outings, with the 19-year-old losing momentum as the year draws towards a close.
While Stakusic was able to end her four-match winning run, I do not predict that she will make it two wins on the bounce in this one. Ostapenko is the better of the two players, and I predict that she will find form in this one.
