Bahrain stunned Australia in their last match as they secured a 1-0 win at the expense of the Socceroos.

Japan notched the result of the round as they humiliated China in a stunning 7-0 triumph to get their campaign off to the perfect start.

The pair have met a total of 10 times, with Japan winning seven meetings, Bahrain winning twice and one match ending as a draw.

Bahrain were excellent in their opening match in World Cup qualifying as they downed an Australian side that was heavily tipped to beat them.

Their rearguard action was impressive, while they profited from Australia's desperation to win the game as they scored via a Harry Souttar own goal in the 89th minute. Three points and a clean sheet constitutes the perfect start for Bahrain.

However, they now face the side that secured the result of the round in game one. While Bahrain will have aspirations of keeping Japan to far less than seven goals in this one, I do not believe they have what it takes to beat their opponents.

Japan Form

While Japan were heavily backed to beat China, few would have predicted the scoreline, with the side running out 7-0 winners in the most one-sided match of round one.

Only two of their goals came in the first-half, with Japan then running riot in the second-half with five goals. While China crumbled as the game wore on, Japan were excellent in front of goal as they took their chances and punished their opponents.

With five wins to nil in their last five, I am backing Japan to secure yet another win and clean sheet as they end the international break with a second win.
