Oman slipped to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Iraq in their opening qualifying match last week.

South Korea were held to a surprising 0-0 draw at the hands of a stubborn Palestine side.

The pair have met four times before, with South Korea winning twice and two games ending as draws.

Oman will have been hugely frustrated to have had the better of their exchange with Iraq, only to see all three points taken away from them.

A goal in the 13th minute from Aymen Hussein proved the difference between the sides, with Oman unable to score from any of their 11 total shots. This defeat has extended their winless run to two matches, with Oman in need of a result to kickstart their champaign.

While Oman will benefit from playing at home, they come up against arguably the strongest side in the group in a match I do not believe they will win.

South Korea Form

South Korea will know that their 0-0 draw with Palestine was a huge chance to start their campaign with a win missed as they failed to make the most out of keeping over two-thirds of the ball.

Worryingly, the five shots on target they managed was only two more than a Palestine side that played the majority of the game without the ball. Meanwhile, their ratio of five shots on target from 16 total shots was poor, with South Korea incredibly wasteful.

While all teams have bad games, South Korea cannot allow one poor match to become two. They simply have to beat Oman in this one or they will find themselves further from the top of Group B. With this in mind, I am backing Son Heung-min to do what he does best as he leads his side with a goal.
